black cinderella

Bitter night, I close my eyes
I see your face in disguise
In masquerade, in pitch parade
Bleeding lips in a charade

Crisp wind blows the veil
Reveals the tears you dispel
You throw me with a chilling stare
Heart’s agape in tainted fear

Black Cinderella vain in waiting
Holding the broken glass shoes
I hear your heart is breaking
For a prince who never paid his dues

Keep waiting, hiding, masquerading
Lost in your eyes of endless searching
Hundred years is gone and passed
No phantom appeared from the mist

Cinderella in endless waiting
Break the line where widow marches
Turn your back a perfect wedding
Throw the bouquet of dead roses

Cinderella in defeated dreams
Hear the song of broken strings
My beating heart will take you in
I will save you from dragon’s lair
